Whether you’re new to TRICARE For Life (TFL) or you’ve had it for years, you may have questions about getting care with TFL.

TFL is Medicare-wraparound coverage for military retirees and their family members who are TRICARE-eligible and have Medicare Part A and Part B. Medicare is your primary health coverage when you have TFL.

“This means that Medicare pays first on a health care claim,” said Anne Breslin, TRICARE For Life program manager. “TRICARE pays second, or last if you have other health insurance.”

A World Health Organization official who recently returned from the Gaza Strip said on Wednesday the health care system is rapidly deteriorating, and more staff, supplies and access are urgently needed.

Ala. community college nursing students are more prepared for the health care industry

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A new report from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing shows that nursing students from Alabama’s community colleges are more prepared to enter the health care industry after graduation.

The report shows that more than 95% of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) candidates and 95% of Registered Nurse (RN) candidates from one of the state’s community colleges passed their Next Generation NCLEX. The test measures the student’s preparedness.

The national average for LPN is 75%, RN is 68%.

TALLAHASSEE — Nearly 600,000 Florida children lost their government-provided health insurance last year after the federal government ended the national COVID-related health emergency, more than any other state except Texas, according to a newly released report by the Georgetown Center for Children and Families .

The report, a national study of how states shed children from Medicaid after the federal government lifted a hold that blocked them from dropping these patients during the pandemic, found that Florida lost 589,671 children in state-run government health insurance programs from April to December.
