Owkin shares AI and patient data tools with Servier - ai oncology data tools
In January, Owkin identified potential biomarker-defined subgroups for a Servier oncology drug candidate, findings that Servier later evaluated using Phase 2 trial data.

Owkin has granted Servier a license to use its AI-powered research platform, K Pro, alongside its multimodal patient data network for oncology-focused drug development. Under the terms of the deal, Servier’s research teams will analyze real-world patient data through K Pro, which merges AI capabilities with biological insights to speed up molecule optimization, biomarker discovery, and clinical trial design.

The platform integrates patient data from Owkin’s MOSAIC network with specialized AI tools, which have been trained and validated using clinical records and laboratory research. Thomas Clozel, Owkin’s co-founder and CEO, described the platform as transforming how biopharma operates by enabling faster hypothesis testing than traditional manual analysis methods.

Claude Bertrand, Servier’s executive vice president of research and development, emphasized that the partnership will allow researchers to generate and test hypotheses more efficiently. This collaboration follows a 2023 agreement between the two companies, which initially centered on using AI to identify patient subgroups for Servier’s existing therapies. In January, Owkin identified potential biomarker-defined subgroups for a Servier oncology drug candidate, findings that Servier later evaluated using Phase 2 trial data.

Owkin’s approach relies on ongoing updates from its MOSAIC network, which collects anonymized patient records. The platform’s advantage lies in its ability to combine structured and unstructured data, such as lab findings, imaging scans, and electronic health records, into practical insights. This method contrasts with conventional biopharma practices, which often depend on smaller, controlled datasets.
