Film producer Ronnie Rodrigues has filed a police complaint against chartered accountancy firm Kazi and Associates, alleging GST-related irregularities involving several companies within his business group. The allegations include claims of forged signatures, unauthorized use of former directors’ names, and discrepancies in statutory filings.
Rodrigues, CMD of the Pearl Group, has accused the accounting firm Kazi & Associates of mishandling records for multiple companies under his umbrella. He claims that the firm included names of former directors and partners who had resigned in 2021 and 2023 in official documents and GST filings without their consent or awareness. The name which included in Partnership Firm by Kazi and Associates, was never Partner in the Partnership Company.
At a Mumbai press briefing, Rodrigues shared evidence he says proves errors in tax compliance and regulatory filings. His lawyer, Advocate Sudhakar Mishra, confirmed that police in Thane have filed a complaint against the firm under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

The legal troubles have also thrown a wrench into Rodrigues’ film projects, notably Maine Pyar Kiya Phir Se, starring Arbaaz Khan. The movie’s launch, marked by a ceremonial event featuring Dharmendra, has been put on hold due to the unresolved financial and compliance disputes.
Rodrigues’ legal filing states that Kazi & Associates has worked with his companies since 2013, handling everything from tax submissions to audits and record-keeping. He alleges that the firm failed to share copies of critical tax documents and statutory filings with the businesses after submitting them to government agencies.
