A new 52-hour musical rendition of Shri Ramcharitmanas has been unveiled. The project, by singer Madhushree and composer Robby Badal, took nearly two years to complete. The teaser was released in Mumbai under the Royant Music label.
Launch Event and Guest Support
The teaser launch event in Mumbai was attended by several guests. Spiritual guru Oma the Akk, producer-director Karan Razdan, actor Gagan Malik, and Vastu expert Dr. Khoja were among those present. They praised the project as a significant effort to combine India’s spiritual heritage with music.
Video messages of support came from several well-known figures. Padma Shri awardee Anup Jalota, singers Kailash Kher and Kumar Sanu, and actress Mandakini all sent their wishes. Anup Jalota congratulated Madhushree on her work.
Madhushree’s Journey of Devotion
Madhushree described the project as a journey of devotion. “I dedicated myself in the name of Lord Ram,” she said. “For more than two years, I continued singing the Ramcharitmanas, immersed in devotion.”

She added, “I am Bengali, and singing the entire Ramcharitmanas in the Awadhi language was a major challenge for me. But when I began by taking Lord Ram’s name, I felt that I had received His blessings. The story of the Ramcharitmanas is so emotional that I often found myself in tears while singing. When singing film songs, there is usually an expectation of success and popularity, but I had no such expectations with this project. I sang it with devotion. I would say that I did not just sing; I practised devotion.”
Robby Badal’s Vision and Future Plans
Composer Robby Badal acknowledged the project’s difficulty. “It would not have been possible without Madhushree’s voice,” he stated. Coming from a small village, he called composing for the Ramcharitmanas a very significant achievement.
The presentation blends traditional melodies with arrangements for contemporary listeners. Badal also announced that nine bhajans from the project will be released during Navratri. He emphasized that the project was driven by devotion, not financial gain.
Other speakers also highlighted the spiritual significance of the work. Karan Razdan recalled Madhushree speaking about the project for two years. Dr. Khoja spoke about the spiritual power of Lord Ram’s name and praised the initiative. Oma the Akk called it an effort to connect generations, saying, “This 52-hour presentation is an effort to connect the younger generation, especially Gen Z, with Indian culture.”
