Rice President Reginald DesRoches participated in a TEDx Talk where he joined community leaders in a discussion on men’s health and the challenges of leading during a health crisis.

This TEDxSunnyside Salon event, organized in collaboration with the multicultural community relations team in the Office of Public Affairs, focused on men’s health and the challenges they face, specifically when it comes to men having a reluctance to go to the doctor, addressing serious health issues and implementing healthy dietary habits.

Premier League helps fans to kick off a conversation on mental health

The Premier League’s Inside Matters campaign returns today, with the League and clubs encouraging fans to check in on each other and talk about mental health. The campaign will be visible at all Premier League matches between 11 and 15 May.

As part of the campaign, Premier League players, managers and club experts discuss their own experiences and share thoughts on the importance of talking about mental health in a series of videos.

The League has also launched new curriculum-linked education resources on mental wellbeing, which are available to more than 19,000 primary schools across England and Wales.

Nearly 90% of adults over age 20 in the United States are at risk of developing heart disease, an alarming new study suggests.

While the unexpectedly high number doesn’t mean that the majority of adults in the US have full-blown heart disease, it does indicate that many are at risk of developing the condition, even younger people.

Researchers identified people at high risk using a recently defined syndrome that takes into account the strong links between heart disease, obesity, diabetes and kidney disease, according to the research published Wednesday in JAMA.
