Vitality AI is launching its Google-powered health service in the United States, targeting employers and insurers with artificial-intelligence guidance, coaching and rewards designed to boost preventive care and healthier habits.

Expansion to the U.S. market

This platform runs on Google Cloud and combines Gemini Enterprise and Gemini models with the firm’s dataset covering more than 2,800 health and behavioral dimensions. The blend enables a highly granular analysis of each participant’s profile.

Using the system, a user’s health history, lifestyle and risk factors are evaluated to generate a personalized “next best action,” such as completing a screening or a health assessment. The suggestion appears through a mobile interface tailored to the individual.

According to Vitality AI, 210,000 people have received an AI-driven health action since June 2025, and 54% of them completed at least one suggestion.

“By combining behavioral, clinical and actuarial data with AI technology from Google, our service can identify the highly personalized, achievable ‘next best action’ most likely to improve an individual’s health and motivate sustained engagement,” said Maia Surmava, chief executive of the U.S. operation.

Personalized recommendations and incentives

Vitality AI runs continuous randomized controlled trials to isolate the effect of AI-based personalization from that of financial incentives. Timing, framing and context of each communication are adjusted according to the participant’s motivations and barriers.

Localized incentives are used to increase the likelihood of action.

Members retain control over their information, and the service adheres to security, governance and compliance standards intended to support fairness, transparency and choice.

Recent acquisitions of Icario, Ramp Health and WellSpark broaden its toolkit, adding capabilities for closing care gaps, enrolling participants in management programs and improving Medicare Star Ratings. These moves reinforce the company’s strategy to integrate coaching, digital tools and on-site services under one umbrella.
