Kabuni has launched a global AI-powered platform aimed at making elite cricket coaching accessible to players at all levels, marking a shift in how athletes train and develop. The initiative was unveiled at the Playtime 2026 event in Mumbai, where the company introduced its Super Coaches program, a lineup of former and current cricket stars including Sourav Ganguly, Shane Watson, AB de Villiers, and Shreyas Iyer, who will guide young players through interactive challenges and youth tournaments.
The platform’s core technology, Kabuni PlayOS, uses real-time AI to analyze live play, assessing timing, balance, alignment, footwork, and sequencing. It delivers instant feedback tailored to individual performance, leveraging data from top cricketers to replicate the insights once reserved for elite academies. This approach turns every training session into a high-quality coaching experience, regardless of location or resources.
The launch in India reflects its status as the world’s largest cricket market, offering an ideal testing ground for scaling the technology internationally. After an initial phase of partnerships with cricket governing bodies, the platform will expand globally later in 2026. The rollout coincides with a national campaign, “Do You Want to Play for a Legend?”, inviting 12–16-year-olds across India to compete for spots on teams led by the Super Coaches. Participants will use the platform for training, undergo nationwide trials, and advance to a final tournament at a major cricket venue.

Founder Nimesh Patel developed Kabuni to address barriers young cricketers face, including limited access to coaching and competitive pathways. The platform’s design prioritizes active engagement over passive screen time, aligning with a broader goal of supporting healthier lifestyles through sport. By combining AI with structured youth competitions, Kabuni aims to democratize elite training while supporting coaches rather than replacing them.
Unlike traditional coaching models that rely on physical presence, Kabuni’s AI-driven approach ensures consistency and affordability. The system can integrate into school programs, local clubs, and national competitions, creating scalable opportunities for development. Patel emphasized that the platform is a blueprint for the future of sport, with potential to unlock potential across regions where resources are scarce.
The initiative builds on a growing trend of AI integration in sports training, where technology bridges gaps between professional and amateur development. While similar platforms exist in other disciplines, Kabuni’s focus on cricket, and its emphasis on youth engagement, distinguishes it. The use of real-time feedback mirrors advancements in fitness trackers and virtual coaching tools, but with a stronger emphasis on interactive, community-driven challenges.
